Extremely Rare Schlitz Art Glass

Schlitz Art glass sadly exists no more, but we did buy up all the remaining stock of this stunning artglass in Canada.

Up on the eighth floor of an old wooden warehouse in Milwaukee, WI. back in 1979, Jim (and partner James Baxter) made glass as close to Tiffany Studios own glass as anyone has. Schlitz Studios over their short career were even called upon to manufacture glass for Tiffany window and lamp retoration, some of which is included in this sale.

Because of the stature of this glass, Mikey rarely puts it on sale. It is this very glass that he is using on the dome skylight he’s been working on, now and then for the past ten years.

Odyssey Lamp Molds and Patterns!

Listen!

You wanna make as authentic a Tiffany lamp as possible

then the only way to do it is by using the Odyssey system.

While Chinese convicts now make Tiffany style lamps and have devastatingly devalued the market, there still is a place for the hobbiest who wants to tackle such a worthwhile project as constructing a beautiful Tiffany original.

The heart of the Odyssey System is their fiberglass mold. It incorporates several novel features found in no other lamp system.

The 360 “full form” design permits assembly of the whole lamp shade at one time, rather than in small sections that must later be joined together.  This really is the only sane way to assemble a lamp shade.
Fiberglass is the perfect material for a lamp form—lightweight, dimensionally stable, impervious to acidic fluxes, unaffected by molten solder or even the full heat of a soldering iron, and it can be used over and over again.
Engraved pattern lines allow for fast and accurate placement of glass pieces. They are permanent and cannot be obliterated as with printed lines or paper overlays.
Inset ring and rim ledges insure that your shade will sit level on the base and have a straight lower edge—a problem with any other system.
